What do you get?

 

The total start-up cost for a Wilkins Chimney Sweep franchise is £13,100 + VAT, plus working capital while you establish your business. If required, we can help you obtain up to 65% funding from high street banks, who recognise our proven business model for franchisees.


We will help you create a detailed business plan based on your local marketplace to produce a full six-year forecast of turnover and profits. You can expect a return on your investment within your first 12 months, and full financials are available as discussions with us progress.


Your investment covers everything you need to launch and grow your business:

  • All necessary equipment to operate your business

  • The right to trade under the Wilkins Chimney Sweep brand, systems & heritage for a six-year term (with option for renewal)

  • Branded workwear

  • A large, exclusive territory (no competing franchisees) with potential to support a multi-van business

  • Comprehensive training and ongoing support on all aspects of your business  (see below)

  • Professional accredited training on the safe use of ladders

  • Full training on ProSweep, our bespoke software system

  • Launch marketing, including:

    • Dedicated web page which will quickly appear prominently on Google in your local area

    • Leaflet production

    • Promotional collateral

    • Business stationery

    • Professional photographs

  • Your first year’s membership of the Association of Professional Independent Chimney Sweeps (APICS)

  • Your first year’s franchisee membership of the British Franchise Association (bfa)

The only items you’ll need in addition are a business landline, broadband internet, a tablet, laptop and smart phone…alongside the support of your loved ones and a great sense of humour!

Training & support

 

We offer outstanding training and have the results (and awards) to prove it. Wilkins Chimney Sweep is owned by former franchisee Darren Taylor and the operations manager is award-winning former franchisee Richard Bryan, who ran his highly successful Wilkins franchise for five years before joining the head office team.


That means you’ll benefit from expert support on all operational and administrative aspects of running your franchise, delivered by people with personal experience of being where you will start out.

Initial training includes one week on setting up, growing and managing the business and two weeks’ practical training on service delivery, where you’ll be involved in sweeping approximately 80 chimneys alongside an experienced technical trainer.


We also have a superb, custom-built software system, ProSweep, that makes managing your business and your customers simple. We don’t think you’ll have seen anything else like it!

Ongoing support is available via telephone, email and face-to-face, and includes:
